Conveying who we are to another person can be challenging, especially to people whom we do not yet know. What's important for me to share here with you? I am taking a guess but I think it may be that I truly believe we are capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for. We just have to dismiss the perceived limitations we have come to accept about ourselves and be willing to show up more boldly--whatever that looks like for us. I often look to the natural world to remind me of the intelligence, brillinance and resilience that is coded into each of us. It inspires me and reminds me that I can believe that life is conspiring for my good (as well as yours)! I want to remember my life's journey as one where I did all that I could to be the best expression of myself. I am honored to support you in doing the same.
To know yourself as the Being underneath the thinker, the stillness underneath the mental noise, the love and joy underneath the pain, is freedom, salvation, enlightenment.
Eckhart Tolle
ABOUT KELLI:
My journey to becoming a Professional Hypnotist and Coach started long before I showed up for my certification training, even though I didn’t know it at the time. In my mid-30s, I was seeking answers about my purpose in the framework of life. What was I ultimately meant to do and who was I meant to be? I had been in the home, raising our 3 daughters for over a decade. I knew I had a lot of skills but had no idea how they could possibly translate into meaningful work; something with purpose. I started diving into spiritual teachings, neuroscience, quantum physics and human development content mostly to be the kind of mother I really wanted to be. It became a journey of finding myself (a journey that still continues).
After attending a self-hypnosis workshop in 2013, my traditionally skeptical husband came home and commented on how interesting and beneficial the workshop had been and how it was probably something right up my alley. As I looked through the worksheets he had brought home, I was surprised to see all of the positive, affirming suggestions and wondered how that could be hypnosis–to me it looked and sounded like affirmative prayer which I had, by then, been practicing for over a decade. My interest was sparked and I reached out to the instructor to see if I could attend the second part of the workshop. I did and I was hooked. My initial certification training was a combined total of 220 hours that included theoretical as well as practical training. I have continued to seek continuing education opportunities since then and use additional information from a variety of sources to advance my skill set and expertise.
Hypnosis, for me, combines all the things I mentioned above–spirituality, neuro-science, quantum physics and human development into a platform that allows me to fulfill that purpose I had been questioning. I did not have any intention of starting a private practice–I was simply entranced by all of the new information and processes I was learning. And then I realized that I could be really good at this. It was like a gift was being offered to me; an invitation to use all of the things I had learned and bring them together with my own unique talents and skills and provide a service that had the potential to change people, really change people and validate their experiences in powerful, beneficial ways while creating a road map to move them forward.
I accepted the invitation and now years later, I continue to build my practice, hone my skills, update my own information and programs, and practice what I preach. My desire is to be consciously present to ALL that life has to offer and support others in doing the same. My work never feels like work but truly a calling and a living purpose. In addition, I have published my first book Redefining Happiness: How to Be Happy on Your Own Terms, finished my second, and started my third which means I am fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming an author. These can be found on Amazon.
And in case you’re interested, here’s some more personal information about what makes me, me. I live in Minneapolis, MN and actually like the winters here. My 2 dogs like them too and we spend a lot of time outside all year round. The cat, however does not like the winters. My husband and I will soon enter our third decade of marriage and we have 3 young adult daughters who have been my greatest teachers. Our family is bilingual in German which is useful since half of the family is in Germany. My favorite book is “A New Earth” by Eckart Tolle although I prefer the audio version over the written. I lead an interactive service about spirituality on Sunday mornings at my church. I’ll never change the radio when a Prince song is on and regret never having made it to Paisley Park while he was alive. Team Germany is who I root for in World Cup Soccer. I recently started taking golf lessons again and am still deciding whether or not it was a good idea. Traveling is a big pastime for us and I always look forward to attending conferences that foster my own growth. Any chance I get to spend time with my daughters, I embrace. Taking Improv classes was one of the best decisions I ever took action on and I love playing and performing with different groups. Now that my kids are grown, I enjoy doing things like cleaning the kitchen! I would describe myself as pragmatic yet intuitive, goal-oriented yet creative, an action taker yet discerning, direct yet compassionate and overall someone who really desires to show up for life in a big way.
“Life is Amazing. And then it’s awful.
And then it’s amazing again.
And in between the amazing and awful,
It’s ordinary, mundane and routine.
Breathe in the amazing,
Hold on through the awful,
And relax and exhale during the ordinary.
That’s just living heartbreaking, soul-healing,
Amazing, awful, ordinary life.
And it’s breathtakingly beautiful.”
